MG Hector that caught fire in the Bandra locality of Mumbai was a 2.0-litre diesel MT Sharp variant.

The Hector that went up in flames in New Delhi was a 1.5-litre petrol DCT Sharp variant.

In December 2019, an MG Hector customer from Udaipur had got his vehicle pulled by a donkey.

While you must have heard about the MG Hector-controversy, the SUV has now caught fire on two separate occasions in as many months. The first incident was reported from Mumbai in December 2019 and the second incident occurred in New Delhi a few days back.

The incident in New Delhi happened on the LG House Road and the Hector that went up in flames was a 1.5-litre petrol DCT Sharp variant. A video of the burning SUV was uploaded on January 20, 2020.
